Where to begin... A lot has happened in the last month so I will try not to miss anything out!
I'll start with Uni Women's. This tournament was a great success. 24 teams took part and all feedback received on the weekend was very positive.
After a slight accommodation headache, I was able to house every team and the rest of the weekend ran without a hitch. Pies 1 ended up winning the competition, beating WOW in the final. You can download the full set of results here. The party was amazing as well! Held at the 90s themed club Babylon, most teams in attendance had dressed up and a fun night was had by all.
I was trying to do my bit for Right To Play over the weekend, with advertising around the venue and wristbands given to the trophy winners. I was surprised by the number of people who hadn't heard of the charity and the great work it does so hopefully ninety2 will be able to raise awareness of this very good cause.
Lookfly very kindly provided a prize for the MVP of the final and supplied the pitch discs, along with some fine new threads for me and my team. There were a few questions as to why I had branded myself but hopefully you'll see a lot more of the ninety2 name over the next year!
Speaking of which, I am still waiting to hear back from Si Hill and UKU regarding my bids for the outdoor events for next year. Fingers are still crossed.
It has been quite a busy period in my role as Indoors DOC with the Open Indoor Qualifiers taking place this weekend. I've had to spend some time looking over the schedules to make sure things are fairly equal over the three events. Hopefully it will all go ok.
I'm very busy on the playing side at the moment too, with LLLeeds trials along with numerous indoor tournaments coming up in November/December. There's qualifiers, Iron 5s, Copa de Crimbo and Resolution all to look forward to.
Mix & Mingle planning is well under way. All the successfully entered teams have been notified and payments have started to roll in. There is a new fan page on Facebook and a new logo! I'm trying to sort out lots of new things for the 2010 event including drinks/snacks sponsorship so watch this space for updates. I am also getting involved with Copa Cobana 2010, and am working on getting sponsorship for this amazing event as well.
Back to work for me now so I'll sign off. Perhaps I won't take so long between posts next time!
