M&M imminent

With just one week to go until Mix & Mingle, I seem to be as busy as ever trying to sort out all the final details.  I left my job in the NHS a couple of weeks ago to focus on my events work and I don't seem to have stopped for any length of time since then!  

The player lounge at Ponds Forge has been finalised - the teams are now going to be able to relax in big leather sofas, play games and read some newspapers/magazines.  I have also completed a big order with our friends at BritishCandy.com so players can get a sugar fix from some 80s classics!

The trophies will have a slightly handmade feel about them this year.  All the components have been bought/ordered, so I just need to put them together once the final pieces arrive.  I am very excited about this!  I've also just finished the playlist for the tournament so everyone can enjoy the party atmosphere all weekend long with over 16 hours of 80s tunes.

Speaking of parties, the welcome party on Friday 5th February is going to be taking place at The Forum, just off Devonshire Green, in the centre of Sheffield.  We have our own bar from 7pm and it is open until 2am.  Saturday's event at The Stardust Bar (with BlockStack.tv DJs) kicks off at 8pm and runs through until 1am.

The schedule has been finalised and placed on the website here, along with links to the 09/10 UKU Indoor Rules.  There are some new maps going online too so keep an eye out for those.

In other news, Resurrection has just taken a back seat whilst M&M is taking up so much time, but there are now 12 teams entered.  I am hopeful of getting at least 16, and it now looks like we might run Open and Mixed divisions.  The planning of this will kick off in earnest in a couple of weeks.
